The Importance of Hormones
Hormones control and coordinate your body’s internal metabolism, energy level, reproduction, growth and development, and response to injury, stress, and environmental factors.
The endocrine system is a series of glands that produce and secrete the hormones that the body uses and it coordinates with the nervous system to control the functions of the other organ systems.
The major endocrine glands are the pituitary, pineal, thymus, thyroid, adrenal glands, and pancreas. In addition, men produce hormones in their testes and women produce them in their ovaries.
Hormones are powerful. It takes only a tiny amount to cause big changes in cells or even your whole body. Sometimes these hormones get out of balance, and can lead to problems like diabetes, weight gain or loss, infertility, weak bones, and other problems.
With these things in mind, I think you can see the importance of making sure your hormones and endocrine system are in balance.
