The Hardest Task Any Human Will Ever Attempt is to Discipline Their Own Mind.

Meditation is one of the main tools for attempting to accomplish this daunting task. Meditation is the art of calming and focusing your mind. Learning to do so is incredibly important to good mental and physical health.

Not only is it so important to good health, but it also allows you to tap into many energetic senses that you have available to you.

The key to meditation is breath control, the ability to quiet your mind and gaining the discipline necessary to focus your mind. All these affect you on both the physical and the energetic levels. Starting with frequencies which already work on the energetic level helps you to achieve these goals more simply and quickly.

Meditation and Relaxation

Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years, and there are several different styles. Most types of meditation usually include:

  • Quiet – Most meditation is done in a quiet area to limit distractions.
  • Body position – Most people think of meditation done while sitting, but it can also be done lying down, walking, or standing.
  • Relaxed breathing – During meditation, you breathe slowly and calmly. This also helps you relax.
  • Focused attention – You might focus on your breath, an object, or a set of words.
  • An open attitude – This means that you stay open to thoughts that come into your mind during meditation. Instead of judging these thoughts, you let them go by bringing your attention back to your focus.

When you feel stress, your body responds by releasing hormones that increase your blood pressure and raise your heart rate. This is called the stress response. Relaxation techniques, like deep breathing, can help your body relax and lower your blood pressure and heart rate. This is called a relaxation response.

Pay attention to how you feel when you inhale and exhale normally and when you breathe deeply. Shallow breathing often feels tense and constricted, while deep breathing produces relaxation. When you meditate, it is important to be able to relax. Deep Breathing helps to facilitate this.

One of the simplest ways to relax is by practicing deep breathing. You can do deep breathing almost anywhere. Sit still or lie down and place one hand on your stomach. Put your other hand over your heart. Inhale slowly until you feel your stomach rise. Hold your breath for a moment. Exhale slowly, feeling your stomach fall.

There are also many other types of breathing techniques you can learn. In many cases, you do not need much instruction to do them on your own.

Alpha Rhythm-Relaxation

Quieting your mind is another step towards relaxation. Alpha waves are thought to represent activity in the visual cortex and are associated with feelings of calmness and relaxation. Alpha waves increase when eyes are closed and during meditation and are associated with creativity and mental coordination.

Meditation involves focusing your attention to help you feel more relaxed. Practicing meditation may help you react in a calmer way to your emotions and thoughts, including those that cause stress.
